Communities

Welcome to the Communities Area!

In our school, we agree to be kind, hardworking, cooperative and responsible.

Each student belongs to a Community. The key focus of this Community structure is to engender in students
the core values that form the foundations of our life together. In our school, we agree to be kind, hard
working, cooperative and responsible.

HOC Area is dedicated to ALL Communities And on this area we'll keep you informed of Full community stuff.
The five communities are; ASH, ELM, FIR, OAK & YEW. Students in each Community range from Years 7
to 11 and are in the same year tutor groups with their own dedicated Form Tutor. Each are designated a
specific tree as well as colour to differentiate between each community more easily and each of their
assemblies, community specific clubs, support groups and Community Pastorial Support Managers concentrate
solely on their individual communities.

Student Voice plays a significant part in our school. Each Community has its own Student Leadership Body,
which informs our School Council. Each Community is lead by a Head of Community supported by a
Pastoral Support Manager and a member of the school’s Chaplaincy team.
