Year 11 Science Exam 22nd November

Dear Student,

Inside this pack you will find a number of exam papers and the corresponding answer sheets to help you to prepare for your exam on the 22nd of November.

You will have been selected to sit these exams because either:

 

1)      You missed sitting the exam in year 10,

 

And / Or

 

2)      You need to retake the exam in order to improve your overall grade for this section of your GCSE.

 

The past papers that you have been given were the actual papers that were used in the GCSE last year, however before you try your hand at these you should revise the topic/s for which you have been entered using the following resources and websites:

a)      The AQA Science revision book available from the school shop for £3.50 has all the key points required from the year 10 course.

b)       The following websites have useful revision material and online testing to help you with your revision and exam technique:

Log in using your date of birth and the initials from your first and surname as your user ID. Then use this again as your password. Eg. Jim Smith born 2nd Feb 1996            020296JS.

 

Once in ,choose GCSE from one of the left hand buttons followed by - Science 2008 Final Exam – Core – Biology or Chemistry or Physics – and then choose the revision exercise and test that you need from the list.

Login to the student area using the login name and password given on the slip of paper with your pack.

You will find a list of topics to choose from. You will receive immediate feedback as you take the tests. (Note – you can only take each test twice)

Finally, remember to plan your revision time sensibly. Set yourself some targets and stick to them (Don’t leave it all to the last minute, remember most of you will have two topics to revise) .Get a good nights sleep before your exam and you should see some good results!
